Hiking in New Hampshire

An escape from the city with Mark is just what I needed when he last visited.  I’m not as into hiking like he is, but after a quick Google search and the promise of Odwalla bars, he convinced me to take the two hour drive to Crotched Mountain in New Hampshire.

The start of the trail was a bit tricky to find.  It’s up a road marked “Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center”.  We parked the car around 1,300 feet and hiked up “Shannon’s Trail” all the way to the summit (2,055 feet).  Not bad!  It was actually a lot easier than I thought.  I recommend it to any new hikers that aren’t ready to tackle something as big as nearby Mt. Monadnock.

Having a Zen moment at the summit.  You can just imagine how spectacular these views will be once the leaves start to change!
