Memorial Day

What a beautiful, sunny weekend in Boston!

Bombo

I like the whimsy of this image by Italian designer Mauritzio Santucci (aka Bombo) made for Air Canada's Win the World contest.  He's got an interesting style - paper cut-outs, with colors and textures digitally enhanced.  Neat!

Lost

Tonight is the series finale of Lost - what do you think?  After the last few episodes I've felt like they're just rushing the plot to get to the finale, so, I'm not sure what to expect.  At least I'll finally have my Tuesday nights back :)

Busy Bee

I've been so busy with work lately (planning 2011 itineraries) that I haven't been able to do as many updates as I'd like to.  However, I am excited to be working on some new tours in cities outside of the U.S. and Canada... here is a little visual hint for what one of them is :)

Cliff Diving

I stumbled upon this video of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Championships.  These guys make it look so beautiful and so easy!  I wouldn't mind seeing them jump in Italy or Switzerland this summer.  What a sport...

Other destinations around the world to watch cliff divers include:
Acapulco, Mexico - La Quebrada
South Point Cliffs (Ka Lae Point), Hawaii
Negril, Jamaica - Rick's Cafe

Neon

The Neon Museum in Las Vegas, Nevada collects neon signs, and Pam Sattler took photos of them.  "The Boneyard" houses over 150 signs across 3 acres.  What a rad place to visit!

Landing

I love this photo of Maho Beach in St. Maarten.  You can watch airplanes land or take off right over your head (and yes, danger signs are posted).  There are a few local bars to sit and have a drink, and because it's such an attraction, they post the times of arrivals and departures daily.  I could spend all afternoon watching this! :)

Love that Dirty Water

A pipe that delivers clean water to over 2 million people in the greater Boston area burst yesterday afternoon.  So, that means I'll be busy boiling water to use for the next few days.  The demand for bottled water is high (though I didn't see any empty shelves today).  Signs warning "no coffee" hang on the doors of Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, and Panera.  Here's hoping everything will be fixed and back to normal in the next few days.  In the meantime, here are a few fun items to use:
Forgo buying plastic bottled water and carry your own in this cute container sold at Paper Source.
Use eco-friendly, single use flatware and plates by Bambu and there will be no need to wash the dishes.
Hand sanitizer in a multitude of scents from Bath & Body Works.
Make fun, fresh ice cubes with these trays from Ikea.
