#NYisWILD: Last Day!

Today was officially the last day to enter the 120 Ways NY is Wild sweepstakes in celebration of the 120th anniversary of the Wildlife Conservation Society. I have to admit, when I first entered the Bronx Zoo one early morning a couple months ago, I had no idea what I was actually getting myself into. I could see an opportunity to practice my wildlife photography and knew that I needed to post just 10 photos of the objectives on social media to be entered into a drawing to win a trip to Belize. What I didn’t expect, was just how much fun this photographic scavenger hunt would be. Cue the highlight reel!

Four zoos and one aquarium later, I’ve not only built up my portfolio of animal photos, but I’ve also successfully captured and shared 95 of the 120 Ways NY is Wild. That number far surpassed my expectations at the outset, so I’m proud I made it this far. I also learned a lot about WCS-operated zoos and aquariums from joining this photographic safari, and as it turns out, each attraction offers a vastly different experience. Over the next two weeks, I’ll be reviewing my experience at the Bronx Zoo, Queens Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo, Central Park Zoo and the New York Aquarium, providing insider tips (like where to see what and how best to capture it) so that you can get the most out of your next visit. But for now...here are some more outtakes from my #NYisWILD experience:
